The Confederations Cup players and Jesé joined the squad today for the trip to the US which is wonderful but not the point. This is:

What is this and why is it happening?!

The squad for the US tour.Collapse )
Firstly, a follow-up to yeats' post and a few words of thanks, not farewell *chokes back a sob*:

Gonna miss this lovely couple. There are also rumors that Albiol might join him.

The ex-Real Madrid player says farewell to the supporters in a special communique

After eight seasons with Real Madrid, José Callejón wished to bid farewell to the club and the supporters in a communique, thanking them for their support and affection in his years as a player in the white vest.

"I would like to send this message to everyone who supports or is involved in Real Madrid. It is not a message of goodbye, but one of thanks and until we meet again:

I thank Real Madrid for everything it has meant and will always mean to me, because it has helped me as a sportsman and as a person.

I thank this wonderful club and its supporters for the understanding, support and affection they have given me.

I thank the media for their understanding and respect.

I would like to say a special word of thanks to all those who work for Real Madrid, from the President down to the staff and coaches and to all those who work behind the scenes, who the public don’t know but who are always there.

Finally, I would like to say that I have spent eight unforgettable years of my life here and for my part I have dedicated all my strength and work to give back to Real Madrid some of what it has given me.

Q: When did you find out that you were going to be the manager of Real Madrid?
CARLO: Yesterday. On Monday. [Already the first contradiction, lol.] I think that the club has worked very hard to bring me here, because I still had a year of contract left with PSG. Thanks to the good relationship between the two clubs I am here.

Q: What will be Zidane's role?
CARLO: Zidane was a fantastic player, everyone knows this, and now he's decided to take on the role of coach and I am happy to work by his side. He will be a good assistant, apart from the assistant I will be bringing with me from my technical staff, Clemont.

Q: What do you think about the squad, does it need reinforcements?
The squad is very good, but we will meet with the club in the next few days to discuss what we need. I can't tell you today which players will be staying and which will be leaving. We have time to talk about this in the following days.

Frankly kids - we need more of this from the locker-room. We need pics like this. We need more accounts like Jese's showing us pics like this. In general: we just need more!

I am now 100% in favour of promoting this kid. He is NEEDED for his fine attitude, his amazing bod and his incredible sense of the appropriate and necessary in locker-room pics.

Fuck, yes!
Are they even legal?

I want Xabi, Sami and Iker in the buff, please and thanks! So get on that!

Now we have that out of the way...Collapse )

It's the beginning of a long, long summer (football-wise). So how about some music therapy for everyone to see if we can somehow make it through?

MUSIC!Collapse )
As Christmas day came and went, I began to fear that perhaps Santa wasn't going to bring presents this year since the boys have been so naughty. But as it turns out, Santa's sleigh was just delayed. (Hopefully.) One of the RM presenters tweeted this a few hours ago:
and the mothership is posting videos as we speak! YAY! can you guess the pairs? Collapse )
i figure we need a clearinghouse to discuss our feels on this transfer, so here's the latest news from london:

Luka Modric did not report for Tottenham Hotspur's final training session before their tour of the United States and there is doubt over whether he will board the team flight to Los Angeles that departs on Saturday.

The Croatia midfielder is determined to leave the club and the manager, André Villas-Boas, has confirmed that he will be permitted to do so if an acceptable offer was to come in. Tottenham are holding out for as close to £40m as possible.

Modric has his heart set on a move to Real Madrid, who have so far offered €32m (£24.9m), with a further €8m in add-ons, making the total package potentially worth a little over £31m, which is not enough for Tottenham.
