MADRID - Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has signed a contract extension to keep him at the club until 2019, the European champions said on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old France international joined Real in 2009 from Olympique Lyon and has scored 72 goals in 159 appearances for the La Liga club.
"Real Madrid would like to announce the extension of Karim Benzema's contract with the club until June 30 2019, to include the next five seasons," Real said in a statement on their website.
PARIS - Paris St Germain have ended talks with Real Madrid on buying Angel Di Maria because the Argentina midfielder is too expensive, the president of the Ligue 1 champions was quoted as saying on Thursday.
PSG had discussed a bid for Di Maria, whom Spanish media have reported has a price tag of around 75 million euros ($100.33 million), with European champions Real, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi told reporters at the presentation of new signing David Luiz, according to French media.
"I negotiated with Florentino for Di Maria, but he is very expensive and we have stopped the negotiations."
